The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Orange County residents regarding the residency of 42-year-old Geoffrey Williams, who has reported a move to a residence on Route 17A in Goshen.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Williams as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Williams had sex with a 13-year-old girl in December 2002. He was convicted of third-degree rape of a victim under the age of 17 in September the following year and sentenced to a term of one year in jail. Williams is now under the jurisdiction of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
